Nahrung der Raupe
- [Ericaceae:] Empetrum nigrum (Schwarze Krähenbeere)
Nach TABELL & al. (2019: ) leben die Raupen an Empetrum nigrum, es wurden bisher allerdings erst wenige Raupensäcke gefunden, so dass Details zur Biologie noch ungeklärt sind: "The larva probably feeds exclusively on the leaves of Empetrum nigrum and makes the case (Fig. 6) from an emptymined leaf, which it cuts off from the host plant. Subsequently it widens the case by adding another piece of a hollow leaf to the anterior part of ist case."

Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
TABELL & al. (2019: 55): “The species name is derived from the first letters of the name Reijo Siloaho, the Finnish lepidopterist who has collected the majority of the type material.”
Taxonomie
Der genetische Abstand im Barcode zur nächstverwandten europäischen Art Coleophora fuscocuprella beträgt nach TABELL & al. (2019: 53-54) 4,69 %. Noch näher liege mit dem Minimalabstand von 4,59 % die nearktische Art C. glaucella WALSINGHAM, 1882.
Typenmaterial
TABELL & al. (2019: 50) teilen mit: “Holotype ♂ (GP 4739 J. Tabell): Finland, ES: Kangasniemi, YKJ 687:348, 5.VI.2006, R. Siloaho leg., coll. MZH.” — Paratypen: 226 ♂♂ und 16 ♀♀, alle aus Finnland.
