Nach JUNNILAINEN & al. (2019: 93) ist I. triglavensis mit einer minimalen Divergenz im Barcode von 4,74 % die nächstverwandte Art.

JUNNILAINEN & al. (2019: 84) informieren: “Holotype: ♂, Bulgaria, Blagoevgrad district, Struma river valley, Stara Kresna 275m a.s.l., 41.795N, 23.157E; 03.v.2013. J. Junnilainen leg. & coll. with red label “HOLOTYPE of Incurvaria pirinella Junnilainen, Kaitila & Mutanen”.” — Paratypen: 21 ♂♂ und 4 ♀♀.
