Faunistik
Locus typicus ist El-Kantara in Algerien. GAEDIKE & ZERAFA (2010) meldeten bei ihrer Erstbeschreibung von Eudarcia melitensis "nebenbei" auch Proterospastis autochthones als neu für Malta (und damit Europa). Das Taxon wurde noch nicht in die Fauna Europaea [Fauna Europaea, last update 23 July 2012, version 2.5] eingearbeitet. GAEDIKE (2019: 78) schreibt zur Verbreitung: "In Europe hitherto only known from Malta, outside Europe known from North Africa (Libya, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia)."
