BENGTSSON (1997) bemerkt zur Schreibweise des Artnamens: "In the original description the species-name was inadvertently spelled karini (-i is the termiation in masculine), though it is clearly stated in the article that the name is derived from a feminine person. According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, Article 33(b), dealing with incorrect termination of species-names, the author hereby calls upon emendation of the species-name to be spelled karinae in future."
