Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
PASSERIN D'ENTRÈVES (1986) erläutert seine Namenswahl: "Derivatio nominis : L'espèce est dédiée à Clément Lafaury, microlépidoptériste français actif dans la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle, auteur de quelques importants travaux sur la biologie des Scythrididae. Une petite partie du matériel typique de S. lafauryi n. sp. vient de sa collection."
Faunistik
Locus typicus: Frankreich, Landes, Contis. Die Art wurde auch in Spanien nachgewiesen. NUPPONEN et al. (2007) melden sie erstmals für den Balkan, und zwar sowohl aus Bulgarien (Kresna) als auch Griechenland (Leptokarya).

PASSERIN D'ENTRÈVES (1986) teilt mit: "Holotype ♂: «Contis 21.5.01» ; «Holotypus Scythris lafauryi n. sp. Passerin d'E. 1985»; «Prep, génitale 1420 S Passerin d'E. 1978». Coll. Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (France). Paratypes : 4 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀ provenant de : Contis (Landes, France) 21-22.5.01 (2 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀) ; Bourg de Betz (France) 12.6.25 (1 ♂) ; Capbreton (Landes, France) 20.8.95 (1 ♂ 1 ♀) ; Le Bouscat (Gironde, France) 25.6.35 (1 ♀).
