BENGTSSON (1997) bemerkt zur Schreibweise des Artnamens: "In the original description the species-name was inadvertently spelled marianni (i is the termiation in masculine), though it is clearly stated in the article that the name originates from a feminine Person. According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, Article 33(b), dealing with incorrect termination of species-names, the author hereby calls upon Emendation of the species-name to henceforth be spelled mariannae."
Taxonomie
Nach NUPPONEN & NUPPONEN (1999) ist die nach einem einzelnen Weibchen beschriebene Scythris annae BENGTSSON, 1997 (aus Frankreich, locus typicus Hautes-Provences, Beauverey) jüngeres Synonym von Scythris mariannae aus Südspanien (Sierra Nevada), zu der nur das Männchen bekannt war.

BENGTSSON (1991: 39) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotype: 1 ♂, labelled: SPAIN, Granada, Pico Veleta, N side, 1500 m, 19-VI-1989, B. Å. Bengtsson; Gen. prep. nr BÅB 2848 ♂. Genitalia mounted on slide. In coll. Bengtsson/Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm.”
