JÄCKH (1978: 86) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: „Holotypus ♂: „Chiclana m., 12. VII. [18]53“, leg. STAUDINGER in Coll. Zool. Mus. Berlin, Präp. Jä 9194 (das Stück war bestimmt als Sc. punctivittella COSTA.).“
