Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
NUPPONEN & al. (2000: 21): “Lat. sub = near. The name sublaminella refers to the close affinity in genital morphology to S. laminella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775).”

Faunistik
Die Art wurde aus dem südlichen Ural-Gebirge beschrieben. ANIKIN et al. (2017) führen sie aus der Wolga-Ural-Region von den Distrikten Saratov, Samara, Uljanovsk und Orenburg an.
Typenmaterial
NUPPONEN & al. (2000: 20): “Holotype: ♂ (Fig. 49): Russia, southern Urals, 51°13'N 57°37'E, 350 m, Orenburg oblast, Mednogorsk 20 km S, near Kidriasovo village, 29.V.1998, leg. T. & K. Nupponen. In coll. T. & K. Nupponen.” — Paratypen: 23 ♂♂ und 5 ♀♀.
